NEVERSHREDDALONESOUNDS #2 ISLAND EDITION |
FRIDAY, 07 DECEMBER 2012 15:19 |
Fernsehn macht doof - Musik nich!
and for the next hour or so Nico Nitsche
i listen to your mix some around 5 times by now! Atli Bollason
funny you should ask... some parts of the mix are actually older ideas, and I guess I was stoned when I worked on some of those. But mostly I was sober -- I didn't want to get to lost in the details, if you know what I mean. Nico Nitsche
yeah i know what you mean! is Glitchhop and co big in Island? Atli Bollason
I wouldn't really say so. I first got into this shit through some of the stuff on Warp Records many years ago, Prefuse 73 and Flying Lotus, and then I heard about this micro-genre called skweee. Most of that music is actually coming out of Sweden and Finland, but I was living in Canada when I got into it. Atli Bollason
I just really like these broken beats that you don't really know if you can dance to or not. Atli Bollason
I fucking love dancing. Just losing my shit, waving my fingers in the air, putting on a nasty face and grooving to the music. That's why I love Berlin. People don't really dance in Reykjavík Atli Bollason
Stand around in their winter coat with a beer in their hand, looking at girls. Atli Bollason
oh, not bad. four degrees maybe. But it's raining and really dark. In the city we usually don't see too much snow, no. Nico Nitsche
did you do some research about hartekante before you do the podcast? its okay when you say no Atli Bollason
haha... I checked out your links and did some googling, yes! Atli Bollason
I think to get me thinking about how I see snowboarding types. For some reason I often associate hip-hop style beats with snowboarding -- does that make sense? Atli Bollason
I figured you had enough techno and house going on in Berlin... Nico Nitsche
but may you know the helgasons and they are pretty much more like your beats
true! but our crew is more down south in the middle of germany and there is a lot of hiphop goin on
but the good thing about snowboarding is its pretty free and in the end everybody listen to a lot of different music while the shredd! Nico Nitsche
thank you for your work on Solaris Sun Glaze its a really nice Podcast!! Atli Bollason
I'm glad you like it. Hopefully it's a fresh sound for you guys. I imagined some dudes shredding like crazy to this funky ass music, snow flying everywhere, the sun in your eyes Nico Nitsche
THATS FOR SURE!!!! ATLI enjoy your evening and we stay tuned for more sounds of you mayby in March or earlier!! greets to Reykjavik!!!
